Hudson Valley Fashion Photography { Fashion Shoot for Wilhelmina Model Sarah Weeks }

Well if you can’t tell I’ve been trying to catch up on all my blogging lately.  It’s about time I start taking my blogging more seriously, as it certainly does affect how my website performs.  This time I’m going to talk through a portfolio session I put together for one of the local Hudson Valley models sarah weeks.  She currently works with wilhelmina here in Hudson Valley, which is an awesome agency, and I was happy to get a chance to shoot her.  She was super easy to work with, and I feel like we got some great shots.  Shots that show a bit of emotion, and something dynamic for Sarah.

Well it’s certainly been a while since I’ve posted any engagement work up on my blog.  I’ve been so busy with the other sides of my business it’s been a challenge to find time to do the engagement work that I love doing.  I got a great chance to go out to San Francisco and photograph this wonderful couple.  They were truly special to work with, and I was really happy with the way the images came out.  Be sure to inquire about my rates if you’re interested in my engagement photography.

Hudson Valley Portrait Photographer My 30th Birthday in Hudson Valley

[gallery link=”file” orderby=”rand”]

Well I had a total blast in Hudson Valley City for my birthday it was truly one of my favorite trips I’ve ever taken in my entire life.  I had an amazing group of friends all meet up with me for my 30th there and we had so much freaking fun.

Some fun things about the trip:

Amazing indian food at this restaurant with all sorts of crazy christmas lights hanging from the ceiling.

The weird rivalry between the next door neighbor to the Indian restaurant.

Central Park with my wife.

Coffee at an amazing french bistro…. also with the wife.

Hanging out with some of my favorite people in the whole world.

Hearing that one of the couples I was with were going to get engaged in a week.

Riding in a Limo, because we couldn’t find a damn cab.

Seeing a temper tantrum or two.

Brooklyn Bridge in the rain.

I simply couldn’t have imagined a better birthday, and it made turning 30 a bit more bearable.

I hope you enjoy all my random shots.  These were all shot

See I’m already doing better staying on top of my bloggin…. I’m already patting myself on the back.  I’m going to try and make this part of my saturday afternoon, is getting a few blog posts out to keep people up to date on what I’m up to these days.  I’ve been hanging out with a few Hudson Valley photographers and that’s been a real blast lately.  It’s so much fun meeting other photographers and talking shop, talking models, lighting…. all the drama in this biz.  It’s totally fun.  I’ve also just redesigned my whole website.  Blog not included.  I’m thinking about leaving the blog for a while.  I don’t really feel like changing it, and it’s a big pain, and lets be honest nobod

Portrait Photography in Hudson Valley { Alita Book Work }

Another installment of me trying to do a bit more blogging, and at least writup something more often for my photography work.  Say hello to Alita, a local model that was looking to beef up her book with a more diverse look.  She had plenty of promotional style work in her portfolio, but we wanted to add some more high fashion style headshots.  So we worked on getting stuff that certainly had sex apeal, but showed off her true beauty.  I wouldn’t call this beauty work, but it certainly highlights what a great face she has.

This first shot I did using freelensing, which was a frustrating blast.  I only got about 3 great shots, but man were they fun to wo

Portrait Photography in Hudson Valley { Brittany Fashion Shoot }

I have really got to get better about writing up blog posts, but it feels like my time is shrinking with all my editing, and recent fashion work.  And for that I’m immensly grateful.  Of course I still need to keep on top of my blog, so I’m going to put up a few portfolio sessions that I did recently for you to check out.

The first is Brittany.  She was fantastic, great posing, great skin, and a super fun chic.  We had a blast working together…. speaking of which we really need to work together again soon.  Anyways I hope yall like these shots that I did for Britt’s portfolio.

This is probably one of my favvorite black and white shots I’ve ever taken.  I fell i

Fashion Photographer in Hudson Valleyl Katie E Portfolio Session

What me? Not write any blog posts for months? ME?!?! No never.  I know it’s been too long, but I’ve just been having fun doing all sorts of crazy things.  These shots are from a fashion portfolio shoot I did a while ago, but I wanted to share them.  They are some of my favs.  Katie is a local model here in Hudson Valley, and a total blast to work with.  Super nice, we had a blast creating some great images.  I love it when I get to work with people that seem to really “get” it.  Ya know?

I can’t express how much fun I’ve been having with my fashion work.  It’s so much more creative than my other outlets, and I think it’s really caused me to focus on my techniq

Engagement Photographer in Hudson Valleyl Portfolio Session with Kristiana

Man it’s been a wild ride lately.  I’ve been shooting nearly every weekend.  Having a blast in my studio.  It’s awesome, I can’t tell you how much fun it is to just be able to work on my photography.  Not to mention I’ve had the opportunity to work with some amazing models lately.  This here is Kristiana, and she was just a blast to work with.  Came with a ton of ideas, great person.  It’s so much easier to shoot fashion when you’re working with people who you actually enjoy being around.  I hate boring people.  I also don’t like feeling like I have to be a dancing bear to keep people entertained.  It’s just too much work to shoot and dance.  Seriously. Too. much. work.

Fashion Photographer in Hudson Valleyl Luccia Portfolio Session

Well if you guys can’t tell, I’m really into my fashion photography lately.  I’ve been putting a ton of effort into both learning and growing as an artist.  For those of you who don’t know, when I got into photography this was what I aspired to do.  And while it probably won’t ever pay the bills, it will remain to be a part of my artistic being.  I can’t tell you how giddy and excited I get by this style of portrait work.

I say portrait work because to me, I’m so interested in capturing an emotion in the moment of the shot.  I love that feeling that you’re peering through a window that maybe you shouldn’t be.  That you’ve caught some interesting precipito

Hudson Valley Food Photographer Linger Desert Shoot

I had an amazing opportunity to work with a new resteraunt in my area called linger on a featured desert that’s going to be featured in an online magazine called tastingtable.com.  I’m really stoked about this whole shoot.  It really was a blast, and I forgot how much I miss working with food photography.  It’s both wonderfully challenging and oddly interesting.  It’s really amazing how hard it can be to photograph something that is seemingly so freaking simple.  It’s still, it doesn’t move, but without the perfect light and colors that are perfect it will come out looking surprisingly weird.  Food photography is both about focus and lighting, and well we all know how intere
