Lorin { Hudson Valley Film Photographer }

I actually think these shots were all the way from last fall.  I had just bought my first medium format camera, and I was having a blast playing with it.  I really loved Lorins look, and I wanted to put together a shoot that was a bit more emotional, and had very little to do with the clothing for a change.  Not that I’m historically all about the clothing, but I wanted these to feel like very emotional portraits.   I wanted to put together a story that was more about the person.

This first shot was actually one of the last shots of the day.  Right as the sun was setting.  Which I have to say with film, it’s super hard to meter this kind of light.  Everything is pretty soft, but yo

Hudson Valley Photographer { Tyler Portraits }

Here are a few other shots that I did on that collaboration night with another group of local photographers.  You can read more about that night [here](http://blog.davebrownphotography.com/Hudson Valley-photographer-raquel-big-ol-collaboration-night/ “Hudson Valley Photographer { Raquel Big Ol Collaboration Night }”) including my usual ramblings.

This is Tyler.  Who happens to be one of my favorite people in the Hudson Valley fashion scene.  She has a really drop dead gorgeous face, and I absolutely adore the way this girl moves.  It’s really a bit sad she’s not taller, because I feel like she’d have an amazing career as a model.  In this industry though, that’s just a show st

Hudson Valley Photographer { Raquel Big Ol Collaboration Night }

These shots are pretty old too, but I don’t think I ever did a writeup for them. A while back a bunch of us Hudson Valley Photographers got together for a night of drinks, and shooting. Around town, we rarely do stuff like this, but it was great to hang out with a bunch of the other local photogs. We shot at another photographers giant studio space, we had 5-6 models, 5 or so HMUA’s and a group of us photographers. Oh and there was plenty of fireball for the models. I brought some real bourbon though, I can’t stand that fireball stuff.

One of the girls that we invited was Raquel, who at the time had only really done one shoot. Nowadays she’s gone on to shoot with all the top p

Hudson Valley Actor Headshot Photographer { Chrissy }

I had the opportunity to shoot some headshots for miss Chrissy a couple weeks ago.  She’s actually [Chucks](http://blog.davebrownphotography.com/Hudson Valley-headshot-photographer-chuck/ “Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer { Chuck }”) wife.  Which was a ton of fun, because I really just enjoyed being around their energy.  They’re a hilarious couple.  Chrissy is super goofy, which probably explains why she came to me for headshots.  She’s been working with an improv crew lately, and wanted to get some nice headshots for their promotional material.  Honestly, I’m suprised Chrissy didn’t do this kind of stuff sooner, she’s hilarious, and she always has been.

For these

Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer { Chuck }

Everyone say hi to Chuck. I recently had the chance to work with chuck to give him some new headshots. He had recently become more of a leader at the tech startup he’s working for, and he wanted to get a headshot that was clean, crisp, and modern. I actually really enjoy doing headshots for people in the Tech industry.  I have quite a bit of history in that industry, it’s actually what I went to school for and I worked for quite a while as a software engineer. So I always feel like it’s really easy for me to relate to people who work in Tech. I’d say I’m certainly pretty gregarious, but when you have a common ground like that it makes it even easier.

Chuck brought his wife along, which was a blast a

Anastatia Hudson Valley Photographer

I think I shot these 2 summers ago.  I know that’s how far behind I am on blogging.  I really just need to get a bunch of stuff up on the blog, and get all this content off my desk.  I shot these right after I had got my new mamiya film camera.  Which I love dearly.  Shooting film is a totally different experience.  Shooting medium format film is even more different.

I kept seeing all these people shoot with medium format cameras, and I was astounded by the detail.  The compression was amazing, and the overall look of the images just seemed different than what i could get in my full frame digital camera.  After a lot of research I decided to go with a mamiya rz67 proII.  A de

Hudson Valley Fashion Beauty Photographer { Savannah In the Studio}

It’s pretty rare for me to shoot beauty.  I can do it, but I don’t typically.  I guess I just don’t have a client base that usually needs beauty.  If anyone knows a beauty company in Hudson Valley that needs work done, I’d love to put together a shoot, but I think it’s pretty rare in these parts.

This shoot was actually a ton of fun.  Me and my studio mate really wanted to figure out a very specific kind of lighting setup.  Which isn’t pictured here. In the end Lynzi did most of the shooting, and I just came in at the end because I wanted to get at least one good beauty shot before we all left the studio.  For this shot I went with something very simple.  I believe it was just a softbox off to camera

Hudson Valley Band Photographer { Rap Artist 3081 }

I recently had a great chance to work with a local Hudson Valley rapper 3081.

The shoot certainly started off a bit interesting.  I felt so bad for this guy.  He ended up going to my old studio address, and because his ride had dropped him off he had no way to actually get to my real studio which is probably a mile away.  This was also one of those nights in Hudson Valley where it was 5 degrees outside.  His whole crew, and him walked through the frigid cold all the way to my studio.  Which only got worse, because that night in my studio someone had turned off the heat.  I setup the big construction heater for a little while, but after a bit we ran out of gas.

Here real soon I’m g

Zoe Editorial for IMute Magazine

I really loved this shoot that I did with Zoe from Wilhelmina Hudson Valley.  We were intially just going to do some test work, but after she showed up, I knew that I would have enough great shots to actually put together an editorial.  I love it when creativity gets to flow freely like that.

I have a ton of stuff to put up on this here blog.  I’ve been really behind lately, and I’ve been getting a ton of paid work which is really great, but it means that my social presence starts to suffer.  My paying clients always come first.

One scary part of this shoot, was that I ended up getting Zoe on top of this rick

Hudson Valley Photographer { Tiger K }

These shots were from a while back, but I don’t think I ever blogged about them.  This is one of my favorite models in Hudson Valley. Tiger. Yes her name is really tiger, no that’s not a joke.  She’s a super bomber person, and one of my favorite models to work with in Hudson Valley.  She actually moved out to LA a little while ago, and she’s signed with an agency in Toronto.  Which is pretty awesome.  I guess she actually gets quite a bit of work out in LA from her Toronto based modeling agency.  Something I found surprising.

She’s actually come a long way since the first time I shot with her.  I wouldn’t say I was the first photographer to shoot with her, but I will say after I shot w
