Charlie An { Hudson Valley Editorial Portrait Photographer }

I’ve been meaning to write up these shots for a while.  Charlie came in wanting some great modeling pictures something that was a bit more high fashion.  I really loved the way that these shots came out.  Charlie came in for 3 looks, and these were my 2 favorite looks.  That first look is something I’ve been wanting to try more and more of, something that’s shot a bit more wide open, with a ton of really great light.  I’ve been getting plenty of use out of my apple boxes, and I really love them.  They have to by one of my favorite tools when I’m working in the studio.  Whether I’m using them to stand on

First off if you’re looking for a [Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer](http://www.davebrownphotography.com/Hudson Valley-Headshot-Photographer.aspx “Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer”) you can check out my portfolio here.

So these shots were a total blast.  These are from my trip to japan.  These were actually in Osaka, Japan.  We spent a few days in Osaka to get away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.  Which after a while can be a little overwhelming.  We’re still planning on moving out there eventually, but I think we’re going to l

Hudson Valley Corporate Headshot Photographer { Alyssa }

Here are some shots I did with a local Donna Baldwin Model Alyssa.  Man was she great to work with.  She moved really well, and had a fantastic look to her.  We had a ton of fun shooting together.  We wanted to put some great stuff into her portfolio to make her a bit more marketable around here.  She hadn’t really done much shooting in a while, and her look had changed a bit, so she wanted to update her comp card.  So we went with a couple of outside looks, and some studio stuff.  We wanted to add some variety so she would have lots of stuff to choose from for her comp card.  I worked with her fantastic agent over at Donna to make sure we came o

Hudson Valley Actor Headshot Photographer { Brianna T. }

A while ago I got a great chance to work with this beauty.  This is Brianna, who’s a local model who works for the Wilhelmina Modeling agency.  Man is this girl talented.  When she showed up in my studio, I knew we were going to get some fantastic shots.  She’s got a gorgeous face, and came with some fun clothes, and her makeup looked flawless.  I had seen Brianna on their boards, and just really loved her look.  So I was super excited when I got a chance to work with her.  We wanted to add some versatility to her portfolio.  Something that would show a few different looks, and sides.  I always try and add as much variation as I

Hudson Valley Headshot Photography { Matt Gumley }

I’m starting to get closer to catching up on doing my blogging.  I’m still pretty far behind, but I’m getting closer.  These shots are only 4 months old. :)  That’s progress for me.

So child star Matt Gumley came to me to get him some great head shots before a play that he was in, wanted him to cut off all of his hair.  The life of an actor eh?  Wouldn’t that just suck.  I can’t imagine working in a job where my appearance was dictated to me by my employer.  Luckily I get to be a photographer which means flannel all day every day.  No seriously I’m wearing flannel right now.

For Matt we wanted to get him something really clean, but at the same time showed some character.  He wanted som

Hudson Valley Photographer { Raquel Big Ol Collaboration Night }

These shots are pretty old too, but I don’t think I ever did a writeup for them. A while back a bunch of us Hudson Valley Photographers got together for a night of drinks, and shooting. Around town, we rarely do stuff like this, but it was great to hang out with a bunch of the other local photogs. We shot at another photographers giant studio space, we had 5-6 models, 5 or so HMUA’s and a group of us photographers. Oh and there was plenty of fireball for the models. I brought some real bourbon though, I can’t stand that fireball stuff.

One of the girls that we invited was Raquel, who at the time had only really done one shoot. Nowadays she’s gone on to shoot with all the top p

Hudson Valley Actor Headshot Photographer { Chrissy }

I had the opportunity to shoot some headshots for miss Chrissy a couple weeks ago.  She’s actually [Chucks](http://blog.davebrownphotography.com/Hudson Valley-headshot-photographer-chuck/ “Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer { Chuck }”) wife.  Which was a ton of fun, because I really just enjoyed being around their energy.  They’re a hilarious couple.  Chrissy is super goofy, which probably explains why she came to me for headshots.  She’s been working with an improv crew lately, and wanted to get some nice headshots for their promotional material.  Honestly, I’m suprised Chrissy didn’t do this kind of stuff sooner, she’s hilarious, and she always has been.

For these

Anastatia Hudson Valley Photographer

I think I shot these 2 summers ago.  I know that’s how far behind I am on blogging.  I really just need to get a bunch of stuff up on the blog, and get all this content off my desk.  I shot these right after I had got my new mamiya film camera.  Which I love dearly.  Shooting film is a totally different experience.  Shooting medium format film is even more different.

I kept seeing all these people shoot with medium format cameras, and I was astounded by the detail.  The compression was amazing, and the overall look of the images just seemed different than what i could get in my full frame digital camera.  After a lot of research I decided to go with a mamiya rz67 proII.  A de

Hudson Valley Fashion Beauty Photographer { Savannah In the Studio}

It’s pretty rare for me to shoot beauty.  I can do it, but I don’t typically.  I guess I just don’t have a client base that usually needs beauty.  If anyone knows a beauty company in Hudson Valley that needs work done, I’d love to put together a shoot, but I think it’s pretty rare in these parts.

This shoot was actually a ton of fun.  Me and my studio mate really wanted to figure out a very specific kind of lighting setup.  Which isn’t pictured here. In the end Lynzi did most of the shooting, and I just came in at the end because I wanted to get at least one good beauty shot before we all left the studio.  For this shot I went with something very simple.  I believe it was just a softbox off to camera

Hudson Valley Photographer { Tiger K }

These shots were from a while back, but I don’t think I ever blogged about them.  This is one of my favorite models in Hudson Valley. Tiger. Yes her name is really tiger, no that’s not a joke.  She’s a super bomber person, and one of my favorite models to work with in Hudson Valley.  She actually moved out to LA a little while ago, and she’s signed with an agency in Toronto.  Which is pretty awesome.  I guess she actually gets quite a bit of work out in LA from her Toronto based modeling agency.  Something I found surprising.

She’s actually come a long way since the first time I shot with her.  I wouldn’t say I was the first photographer to shoot with her, but I will say after I shot w
