First off if you’re looking for a [Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer](http://www.davebrownphotography.com/Hudson Valley-Headshot-Photographer.aspx “Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer”) you can check out my portfolio here.

Well I finally get to start posting some of my images from Japan.  This trip was quite possibly one of the most life changing trips I’ve ever taken.  Not only was it a ton of fun, but I came away with 3 editorials that I’m truly proud of.  It’s crazy to realize how far I’ve come since starting to shoot professionally in 2005.  It’s been a wild ride, and I can’t wait to look back on these i

mages with fondness from how far I’ve come since I took these shots.  That’s the fun part of photography there’s not a real limit that I see to how far I can go from here.  Sure there will be trials, and tribulations, but as long as I keep shooting, stretching my comfort zone, and pushing myself I can only get better.  At least I hope so.

I won’t go into my whole japan trip here.  Frankly I still have a ton of film to develop from that trip, so it’s probably going to be a while, but at least at this point I get to share some of my images from my editorials.  This one was published in HUF magazine.  Something I’m quite proud of.  Even prouder after I saw a photographer I had always looked up to was also proud to be published in this magazine.  It’s just confirmation that I’m doing something right, and moving in the right direction with my work.

The model here Yurina, was quite possibly one of my favorite girls I’ve ever worked with.  I really wish I could have spoken Japanese, as I could tell she was a really awesome person.  She just had a glow, something that can’t be taught, but jumps off these images.  She oozes a certain kind of reserved sexuality.  It’s not overt, it’s just there.  She was fantastic at posing, and I knew during the shoot that I was working on something really special.

Sorry for the diary of my experience here, but I really want to capture what I was feeling at the time, before that memory fades.

For the shoot we walked all around Shinjuku, finding cool locations that had a color scheme that would compliment the kind of clothes we had in this shoot.  These first 2 shots were some of my favorite, as I thought the clothes, the light, the background, and the model all worked so well together.  This perfect harmony.  Not like my work is perfect, there’s still things I could improve on these pictures, but I was certainly happy with them.

I should also point out that hair and makeup for this shoot were totally on point.  Let’s face it, I had an awesome team, and that certainly shows here.  With that kind of team it’s really hard to produce a bad image.
