Masterpiece Deli Food Shoot { Hudson Valley Headshot Photographer }

Hudson Valley Food Photographer

I had a great opportunity to work with the guys over at Masterpiece Deli, who are putting together some really great sandwiches, with fresh and creative ingredients.  Although that’s not all they’re cooking.  They also have some great breakfast options.  I went  out there to shoot some of their other menu items.  It was fun because I had a chance to work Justin again, which was great, because I really like working with Justin.  Again, it’s just so much fun working with someone who’s passionate about what they do.

For this first shot up there, Justin put together some great salads, and even included some of his bacon from the Hudson Valley Bacon Company.  I really liked how we squared all of the

m up, and then dressed up the negative space with some raw ingredients.  I thought they added some nice pops of color to the frame.

For these shots I had a bunch of natural light, and I actually had to screen off the direct sunlight to get a nice soft light across the shot.  I also added another reflector to fill in the shadows.  That way I could get a bit of dimension, without having a strong shadow.

I have really enjoyed polishing up my food portfolio over the last few weeks.  But really I need to get back to testing models more this summer.  I only have a bit more time before I take my photography to the next level.  I’m really excited about all the things we’re planning over the next few years.

Mostly these days though I’m excited about actually getting married in Iceland.  I can’t wait for that trip, and I especially can’t wait to actually get married.  The pictures we’ve seen so far just look amazing, and I really think it’s going to be the most memorable trip of my life.  We’re going to have a great ceremony in a field of flowers.  I’m also kind of shocked at the amount of people who have said that they are going to come.  I really thought that we would have like 10 people there, but it seems like there’s going to be more like 40 people that show up.  I mean I guess we’ll see when it actually comes to people putting their credit cards down, we’ll see, but for now I’m optimistic.

I’m also really looking forward to some of the headshot shoots that I have coming up.  For instance I’m going to be shooting this singer songwriter, who’s super pretty, and she seems like she has a lot of character.  So I think we’re going to produce some amazing images.
