Andrea for Midikenn Zagreb { Professional Model Photographer Praha }

So part of our deal with moving to the czech republic was that we had to deal with a whole host of visa situations.  That meant that when we got married in iceland, and honeymooned in estonia, that counted towards our schengen time.  Which was certainly a bummer, but that meant that while we were waiting for our visas to be approved, we couldn’t wait in the czech republic.  Instead we had to leave the schengen area.  So we decided to take a trip to croatia.  I couldn’t be happier that we did.  Croatia is a beautiful country, filled with wonderful people.  I hadn’t really ever thought that I would be so interested in croatia, but it’s crazy how different the people are there.  Everyone is super

So lately things have been so busy around our house. We had a great trip to new orleans. It was so awesome. The last time that I can remember that I was there was for the combined birthday between me and my granddad. We are actually both born on the same day.  A few years apart, but the same day.  So we had my 16th and his 50th on the same day.  That was such a fun experience.  I have always appreciated us having the same birthday.  For some reason we’ve always managed to have a blast celebrating together.  When I was younger I used to always make everyone granddad and grandma included go to a hibachi grill restaurant, and seeing old pictures of my granddad with those

Amber editorial portraits and some fashion shots New York Photographer

Amber came in wanting to do some more fashion style shots.  She had always wanted to be a model, and wanted to make a real run at it.  I knew when she came in she had a gorgeous face, and I was excited to get some great shots.  She also had a ton of personality, so I knew we would get some shots with some character in them.

We started out in the back and got some natural light shots.  I haven’t had a chance to edit any of those ones yet.  After that we moved on to do a bunch of studio looks.  I’m excited to see how those ones turn out as well after a bit of editing, but in the mean time I really wanted to work up this one shot.

I sure ha

I wanted to post up some personal things that I got to shoot when my fiance and I had a wedding that we attended up in St. Thomas.  I shot all of these on my Leica which at this point is more of a status symbol than anything else.  I can’t really use if for client work, as it’s all film, and I don’t really shoot it much around town because film is just too damn expensive to get processed.  I used to develop my own film, which so many people talk about how easy it is.  I have news for them when you’re used to shooting digital all the time developing and scanning your own film isn’t easy.  It’s a huge time suck.  Developing your own film, and then scanning it can take anywhere from 2-3 hours.  Which for me is basically a whole evening devoted to developing and scanning.  It’s super fun to see film develop right before your eyes, but after that wear

New York Photographer { Elora Zamora }

So this is Elora, a gorgeous singer here in New York.  She came to me, wanting to up her game with some great pictures for her singing career.  She knew how important branding yourself can be to getting that next big gig.  For other people to take you seriously, first you need to take your own career seriously.  Because she was such a pretty girl already, I knew that I could get away with doing simple looks for her, because I knew she would be able to really carry the shots.  It really depends on peoples personalities when you’re doing shots like these.  If they are interesting enough I think you can get away with simpler

Well I’ve been extra pensive lately.  As much as I love shooting the fashion… it just hasn’t been booking me enough gigs lately.  I’ve actually had a renewed interest in shooting more food.  I know it’s weird, but when you were raised by a grandmother who absolutely loved to cook.  And taught you basically everything you could ever want to know, you end up with a man who’s passionate about good food.  And I know there a ton of foodies out there, but have they ever actually made home made pasta?  It’s easy to talk the talk, but when you actually grew up cooking french gourmet food, I think you ju

New York Fashion Beauty Photographer { Savannah In the Studio}

It’s pretty rare for me to shoot beauty.  I can do it, but I don’t typically.  I guess I just don’t have a client base that usually needs beauty.  If anyone knows a beauty company in New York that needs work done, I’d love to put together a shoot, but I think it’s pretty rare in these parts.

This shoot was actually a ton of fun.  Me and my studio mate really wanted to figure out a very specific kind of lighting setup.  Which isn’t pictured here. In the end Lynzi did most of the shooting, and I just came in at the end because I wanted to get at least one good beauty shot before we all left the studio.  For this shot I went with something very simple.  I believe it was just a softbox off to camera

Lindsey Vonn Editorial and Cover for Rhapsody Magazine

So this was certainly one of the bigger shoots that I did this year.  This was a full team effort, and I was so happy to get the chance to shoot a cover for a major publication like this.  Even better they wanted me to shoot a fashion editorial for the inside of the magazine.  This shoot was certainly intense for me.  I knew the creative director was going to be on set that day.  Not like that’s something new, but it always adds a bit of pressure when your client is right there with you on the shoot.  In reality he was awesome, and was extremely helpful on the shoot.  He had a real vision for what he wanted out of the shots, and he was helping us the whole time.

We started off the morning getting up super early a

New York Photographer { Kora Editorial for Jute Magazine }

Earlier this year I had an awesome chance to work on an editorial that i had been wanting to do for a very long time.  I had always wanted to shoot a seedy motel.  Now initially I wanted a sun drenched LA look to this shoot, with something that looked a bit more vintage, but in the end it was too hard to find a motel that would even let us shoot there.  You’d be shocked at how hard it is, to get people to take your money.  Seriously I wasn’t trying to do anything for trade, I just wanted them to let me shoot while I was paying for a room.  It was suprisingly ridiculous how scared people were about me doing an editorial.  I had one lady accuse me of trying to get away with having an orgy, and no

Triathlete magazine New York Photographer

I had an awesome chance to work with one of the best triathlete/chef combos here in New York.  I was super excited to be able to shoot for another magazine that you could actually pick off the shelf, and I was stoked when they picked me for this shoot.  Seeing as how I wanted to make sure that this shoot went well I actually went in advance to the venue to scope out some locations for the shoot.  Which gave me a great chance to meet and talk to who I was going to be shooting for the portrait.  David Dawson is both an instructor at Johnson and Wales, as well as being a triathlete.  Something that I was certainly impressed by.  What was great about this guy w
