So part of our deal with moving to the czech republic was that we had to deal with a whole host of visa situations.  That meant that when we got married in iceland, and honeymooned in estonia, that counted towards our schengen time.  Which was certainly a bummer, but that meant that while we were waiting for our visas to be approved, we couldn’t wait in the czech republic.  Instead we had to leave the schengen area.  So we decided to take a trip to croatia.  I couldn’t be happier that we did.  Croatia is a beautiful country, filled with wonderful people.  I hadn’t really ever thought that I would be so interested in croatia, but it’s crazy how different the people are there.  Everyone is super

So I actually shot these while on my honeymoon.  It’s kinda crazy I know, but good thing my wife is also a fashion photographer.  Hell I bet she actually encourages it more than I do.  The fun part is realizing that pretty much wherever we travel, I get to shoot an editorial.  I don’t know too many photographers who get to pull that card.  It’s so awesome.

So this is Elora, a gorgeous singer here in Hudson Valley.  She came to me, wanting to up her game with some great pictures for her singing career.  She knew how important branding yourself can be to getting that next big gig.  For other people to take you seriously, first you need to take your own career seriously.  Because she was such a pretty girl already, I knew that I could get away with doing simple looks for her, because I knew she would be able to really carry the shots.  It really depends on peoples personalities when you’re doing shots like these.  If they are interesting enough I think you can get away with simpler

I haven’t really been posting enough of my personal stuff on my blog.  I hope this gives you a better impression of me as a person in general.  These are all film shots from a trip I took up to Breckenridge Czech Republic with a big group of my friends.  I think what I love most about these shots is how much fun they were to take.

Every year my group of friends gets a house up in the mountains to go, drink, and have fun at.  It’s really a blast of a time, and these are people that I truly love.

All these shots were done on film.  I think real film is just the perfect medium for an experience like this.  It already has that nostalgic feel to it, which makes it so much fun to look back on these shots, as a perfect representation of that time in your life.  Most of this is on Tri-x with a few of the shots on Kodak Gold.  Which is frankly an underrated film.  When you expose it correctly and have it professionally developed it can be a truly wonderful film stock.

Well I’ve been extra pensive lately.  As much as I love shooting the fashion… it just hasn’t been booking me enough gigs lately.  I’ve actually had a renewed interest in shooting more food.  I know it’s weird, but when you were raised by a grandmother who absolutely loved to cook.  And taught you basically everything you could ever want to know, you end up with a man who’s passionate about good food.  And I know there a ton of foodies out there, but have they ever actually made home made pasta?  It’s easy to talk the talk, but when you actually grew up cooking french gourmet food, I think you ju

I actually don’t know how long it’s been since I took these shots.  It feels like forever, but that’s just because of how booked I’ve been lately.  Believe me I’m not complaining, as a matter of fact it’s awesome to have so many bookings lately, but that means that what should seem like a day, actually seems like an hour when I look back.  It’s crazy how time can fly when you’re really enjoying what you’re working on.  And let me tell you lately I couldn’t be happier working on the things that I’m working on.   I’ve been creating some really fantastic images for my clients, and it’s such a great feeling to

I’ve really been excited with the direction of my photography lately.  I’ve been getting hired more and more to shoot editorial portraits of people, and it’s so much fun to work on these projects.  I really like trying to capture the character behind someone.  It’s not only the challenge of finding the right look, with regards to lighting, and posing, but also really pulling the person out of their shell, and capturing a unique and characteristic moment out of them.

Well I’m certainly trying to stay on top of my blogging.  I wouldn’t say I’m doing a great job of it, but I’ve been doing better than I was before.  The weather here in Hudson Valley has really been fantastic out lately, which has a great effect of putting me in a fantastic mood.  It also means that I start to get really inspired.  I would say that I have a tendency to hibernate in the winter time.  It’s just not my favorite time to shoot.  I love working with natural light, and interesting backdrops, with great people.  In the winter time, what I refer to as studio season I tend to get a bit bored of doing the same
