Denver Street Photography

I recently took a trip walking around 16th street mall.  I love Denver.  So may characters, interesting faces.  Denver certainly is just alive with people.  I don’t always see the shots that I want when I’m shooting street photography.  It’s hard for me to get up the courage to really get close and shoot people who aren’t expecting to have their picture taken.  I try and push myself to get closer, see more emotion, and capture unique shots.  This can be really hard sometimes.  This first shot was one where I knew I was going to get exactly the shot I wanted.  I had a a great backdrop, and I knew that if I shot this shot I was going to love it.  This guy had such an interesting look to him.  He seemed a little forlorn, but he also had such an interesting look I couldn’t help but get the shot.  This is what street photography is all about.  Getting interesting shots of interesting people.

Photography Denver

Well it’s been a while hasn’t it.  It seems like I haven’t posted anything in forever.  I really just haven’t been in the mood to do any writing lately.  Nothing I really wanted to write about.  I’m still kicking booty on my engagement shoots, and have a few random gigs coming up here and there.  Honestly though I just love taking pictures of people.  After working on this last Engagement session I realized how much I really love taking pictures of people.  It just makes me smile.

Native American in Santa Fe

Here’s another shot from my trip down to Santa Fe.  We were walking around the plaza, and we walked over by the La Fonda, any of you who might know Santa Fe a little bit know that the parking lot across from the La Fonda is a really small open air bazaar.  It’s kind of interesting.  They usually have blankets, and shirts, and general Santa Fe stuff.  They usually have the best price on Ristra’s too (at least in the plaza).  If you don’t know what those are, they are the bundles of chili peppers that are bright red.  The are great still life fodder, but again still life isn’t the first thing I look for when I’m walking around.  I want people to photograph, whether I know them or not.
