I had an amazing opportunity to work with a new resteraunt in my area called linger on a featured desert that’s going to be featured in an online magazine called tastingtable.com. I’m really stoked about this whole shoot. It really was a blast, and I forgot how much I miss working with food photography. It’s both wonderfully challenging and oddly interesting. It’s really amazing how hard it can be to photograph something that is seemingly so freaking simple. It’s still, it doesn’t move, but without the perfect light and colors that are perfect it will come out looking surprisingly weird. Food photography is both about focus and lighting, and well we all know how interesting I think lighting is.

Well it’s been a little bit since I’ve done a writeup for an engagement shoot. I’ve just been so busy with work, and other stuff. If you hadn’t noticed I’ve been trying to do a bit of food photography. I think there is one other couple that I never did a blog writeup for,… I should really get on that. Everyone say hey to Melanie and Josh. I’m so happy I got a chance to work with this couple. Man were they fun. I had such a blast working with them.
Denver Portrait Photographer { Business Goals for the Winter }
December 6, 2010First off if you’re looking for a Denver Portrait Photographer, or a Denver Photographer please check out my main website.
Well winter is here, and seeing as how my business certainly slows down in the winter I’ve been thinking recently about some goals for my business the winter. Winter time is rough for any photographer, not much going on with weddings, most couples don’t want to do engagement photography when it’s super cold outside, and most families are worried about the holidays more than doing any family portraits. So the winter time is a perfect opportunity for photographers to work on their craft, perfect their SEO, and work on other aspects of their business.

I recently had a chance to do some head-shots for a local psychiatrist for use on some local publications. I really loved being able to learn from the experience and have a good chance to show off a few different ways in which you can get a business portrait, and some ways where you can make your head shots really pop.
