Fashion Photography in Denver Model Portfolio

Well if you guys can’t tell, I’m really into my fashion photography lately.  I’ve been putting a ton of effort into both learning and growing as an artist.  For those of you who don’t know, when I got into photography this was what I aspired to do.  And while it probably won’t ever pay the bills, it will remain to be a part of my artistic being.  I can’t tell you how giddy and excited I get by this style of portrait work.

Denver Fashion and Engagement Photographer

I’ve been doing so much fashion photography lately, and I just love it.  It’s such a blast for me to be able to be super creative.  I love being able to come up with things that I can’t do on wedding or engagement photography.  Because of all that I finally rented my own studio space.  Which is awesome!  I’m so excited about it.  I just moved in a few days ago, and already I’m super happy about it.  It gives me the space I need to really work, which is something that i just couldn’t do when I was shooting out of my garage.  So here’s to me taking my photography to the next level!  Wish me luck.

Denver Fashion Photographer Dave Brown

In the interest of getting better and posting more frequently…. I’m going to start posting more pictures from my shoots and less discussion.  If you’re interested in knowing more about my lighting, hit me up in the comments and I’ll be glad to help you out.

These 2 girls were such a pair, we worked together on a bit of portfolio building for all of us, and man did we have some fun.  Here are a few of the different looks we were able to come up with while they were in my studio.

So I recently bought one of those Wacom pen tablets.  I really wish I would have done it sooner.  It has been so much fun playing with this thing!  I love how I can make really awesome looking brush strokes on a digital canvas.  It’s totally wild.  Now I do have the advantage of using photoshop CS5′s new Mixer brushes, and I have to say I’m totally amazed by how great they look.  Honestly it’s like painting with a real brush in your hand.  It does take a little getting use to with the whole hand eye coordination of making strokes on something below the screen while watching it happen on your monitor.  Sadly I’ve been too busy playing with digital painting to try my hand at some really cool dodging and burning.  Using pressure sensitivity on a pen to simulate exposure up and down is going to be really cool, I just don’t have any shots in my library that I really want to do that with.

Denver Fashion Show

First off if you’re looking for a Denver Fashion Photographer check out my Portfolio.

I know everyone is a little tired of seeing shots from this fashion show, but seeing as how I worked on a few more I might as well post them, and talk about them each. Again it’s so weird to me how much more work is involved in fashion photography.  Really it’s so much more of a challenge, getting all the hair right, the makeup spot on, colors perfect, everything has to work so well together.
